3D printed prostheses - Cumbres International School Aguascalientes

On June 29, 2021, at the "ISTE live 21", 6th graders, Leonardo Ramírez ,Mayte Alejandra Chávez,  María Fernanda Rodríguez, Santiago Narváez Yokoyama, Miguel Angel Olavarrieta, Ana Sofía Valdés,  successfully presented their project "3D Printed Prosthesis", This  took them 5 months to develop a prototype using the design process, they were guided by their teachers Beatriz Izquierdo their English teacher and Professor David their technology  coach.

In this project they had the opportunity to learn the right platforms and tools to meet the desired objectives. The students understood the fundamental concepts of technological operations, demonstrating the ability to choose, use and solve problems of current technologies and could transfer their knowledge to explore emerging technologies. Students knew and used a deliberate design process to generate the 3D printed prosthesis  to  solve an authentic problem of a 7-year-old boy who was born without the fingers of his left hand due to genetic problems.
