ISTE LIVE 2026: When Technology Transforms the Way We Learn

In a world where technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace, education faces a fundamental challenge: it is not enough to bring new tools into the classroom; we must also teach students how to use technology to create, solve problems, and transform the world around them.

This is one of the key takeaways from our participation in ISTE LIVE 2026, an experience that brings together innovative and forward-thinking educators with a shared purpose: leveraging technology to revolutionize learning.

For the Red de Colegios Semper Altius educational community, participating in this global event meant much more than presenting projects. It was an opportunity to share experiences, discover new possibilities, and demonstrate that educational innovation truly makes a difference when it places students at the center of the learning experience.

12 Schools, One Community Driving Innovation

The participation of 12 schools brought a diverse collection of projects to ISTE LIVE 2026, showcasing the many ways technology can enrich education and create meaningful learning experiences.

In total, 28 projects were presented, addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, coding, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D design, STEM education, gaming, sustainability, creativity, well-being, and digital citizenship.

From the earliest years of education through middle school, students had the opportunity to learn by doing: designing solutions, conducting research, experimenting, collaborating, and communicating their ideas.

Technology for Meaningful Learning Experiences

One of the greatest strengths of the projects presented at ISTE LIVE 2026 was their ability to connect technology with real-world situations and challenges.

For example, students explored the biodiversity of their surroundings through digital tools, while others designed weather stations to collect and analyze environmental data. Some used artificial intelligence to create stories, develop sustainable urban solutions, or explore new ways of learning mathematics.

Creativity was also expressed in a variety of ways—from transforming paintings into augmented reality experiences and creating digital avatars to designing board games, musical synthesizers, and interactive experiences.

In other projects, technology became a powerful medium for addressing issues that directly impact society, including bee conservation, recycling, inclusion, cultural diversity, and emotional well-being.

Together, these projects demonstrated an essential principle: educational innovation is not simply about using technology; it is about using it with purpose.

Students Recognizing Themselves as Agents of Change

Perhaps one of the most valuable outcomes of this experience lies not only in the projects students developed, but also in what they discovered about themselves throughout the process.

Through their experience at ISTE LIVE 2026, students recognized that they can be true agents of change. They discovered that technology can be a powerful tool for improving their surroundings, expressing their ideas, collaborating with others, and contributing to solutions for real-world challenges.

This perspective aligns closely with the competencies we seek to foster in our students: becoming creative and critical thinkers, effective communicators, collaborative problem-solvers, and responsible users of digital technologies.

From Learning Technology to Learning with Technology

The ISTE LIVE 2026 experience also invites us to reflect on the role technology plays in education.

It is not simply about learning how to use a new platform, application, or artificial intelligence tool. The greater challenge is to learn with technology—using it to research, create, experiment, question, collaborate, and develop solutions.

When a student uses AI to transform an idea into a story, programs a device to better understand a scientific phenomenon, designs a sustainable city, or uses augmented reality to communicate a message, technology becomes more than a digital tool. It becomes an integral part of an authentic learning experience.

Innovating to Transform

The participation of the Red de Colegios Semper Altius in ISTE LIVE 2026 reflects an educational community that understands innovation as an ongoing journey.

The projects presented demonstrate that there are many pathways to transform learning and that, when technology is integrated with clear pedagogical purpose, it can open new possibilities for students to take ownership of their education.

Because preparing students for the future does not simply mean preparing them to use the technologies that exist today.

It means helping them develop the curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and capacity to transform the world around them.

At ISTE LIVE 2026, our students did more than show what they can do with technology.

They discovered everything they can transform with it.
